(a)
According to the law of definite proportions, the mass ratio of water to hydrogen is constant.
(18.02 g) : (2.02 g) = (775 g) : (x g)
x = 775 × 2.02 / 18.02
x = 86.9
The mass of hydrogen formed = 86.9 g

(b)
According to the law of definite proportions, the mass ratio of water to oxygen is constant.
(18.02 g) : (16.00 g) = (775 g) : (y g)
y = 775 × 16.00 / 18.02
y = 688.1
The mass of oxygen formed = 688. 1 g

775/18.02= 43.0077...
Mass(H) = 43.0077 ... x 2 = 86.0155... g
Mass(O) = 43.0077... x 16 = 688.124...g
