One way is to get similar ratios so that the number corresponding to princesses is the same in both ratios, since princesses is the one that's mentioned in both ratios, by multiplying each ratio number by the same thing:
superheroes : princesses = 5:4, each times 3 =15:12
princesses : celebs = 3:1, times 4 = 12:4
So now you have superheroes: princesses: celebs = 15:12:4.
Put a variable with these and make an equation.
15x = number of superheroes
12x = number of princesses
4x = number of celebs

15x + 12x + 4x = 93
31x = 93
x = 3
15x = 45 = superheroes
12x = 36 = princesses
4x = 12 = celebs

5/4 3/1
make 3 and 4 equal
3/3*5/4,4/4*3/1
15/12,12/4
15+12+4=31
if 31 =93
12=93*12/31=36
15=45
4=12
45/36=5/4
36/12=3/1
