I really want to get my septum pierced but my boyfriend...?

I really want to get my septum done... but the only thing that is holding me back is what my boyfriend will think. Its hard because when we met i didnt have any tattoos or piercings so the fact that i am getting piercings and such weirds him out. He doesnt like tattoos or piercings whatsoever. I have one tattoo and several piercings on my ears. I really want to get my nose done and I would get a very small ring almost completely tight to the bottom of my nose. I was thinking as a compromise i could just take it out or flip it up when im around him and his family. What do you guys think?

Regardless of what your boyfriend thinks, you are likely to regret doing it when you grow up.

It's not his body. Its yours. Do what you want with it. I honestly hate those piercings though. Makes me want to take you on a cattle drive. Don't chew gum or you'll really look like a cow! 🐮

If your boyfriend loves you, he will still love you with a pierced septum. If you getting piercings "weirds him out," that's really more on him. I mean, ear piercings are nothing, and a septum piercing is pretty standard. Does he just not like them? Is it closer to a won't let you have them? I dunno, I kinda see this as a bit of a red flag. It's your body, you should be able to do what you want. Plus, unless you gauge them out, piercings can heal back together quite easily.

No. If your boyfriend matters to you a lot and you care about him, don't get the piercing or any other piercing you're thinking of as a compromise.
