So I REALLY want a septum piercing but...?

I really want to get my septum done... but the only thing that is holding me back is what my boyfriend will think. Its hard because when we met i didnt have any tattoos or piercings so the fact that i am getting piercings and such weirds him out. He doesnt like tattoos or piercings whatsoever. I have one tattoo and several piercings on my ears. I really want to get my nose done and I would get a very small ring almost completely tight to the bottom of my nose. I was thinking as a compromise i could just take it out or flip it up when im around him and his family. What do you guys think?
