Why not take both?

Yours is the choice. Why ask strangers?

Use the real camera. Aside from getting clearer pics, you get more too.

Unless the Instax mini has ISO 800 on its light sensitivity, then its OK---but you will be able to capture more in the Canon----

For clarity, you do not own a Polaroid camera. Your camera is made by Fujifilm and not by Polaroid. Polaroid is a brand that used to make instant-film cameras and film. It's like calling all cotton swabs Q-Tips.

Anyway....If you try to use your Instax indoors, it will need to use a flash which only has an effective range of about 6 feet. Anything further away and it'll be underexposed. Since the Instax Mini 8 is really just a toy camera, using it in these kinds of lighting conditions is really outside of its designed intended use. You can certainly try it for yourself, but in the end I think you'll just be left with a bunch of useless photos that cost you $3 each. The Canon will produce better shots than your Instax Mini 8.

Canon and share photos immediately online is the modern way. Instax is for immediate friends and dubious art when you're at college.
