As someone that has studied psychology and has numerous psychologists/therapists friends, I'll tell you this, what you experienced is known as transference. All therapists study and expect it to happen at least once in their practice career. He reacted appropriately and there is nothing to feel embarrassed about. He is probably genuinely concerned for your well-being. This is not going to look weird to him and he probably experiences it all the time. My therapist friends have reported clients texting them nudes, sexting them, writing them love letters, even showing up and knocking at their doors at midnight, so your behavior falls somewhere along that continuum, but is nothing to be embarrassed about as it is fairly common.
