You need measurements to find your proper fit. Some signs of a wrong fit are: straps that fall down, tightness, breasts overflowing cups or cups that don't lie flat. Click on the link below for information on how to measure yourself for a bra. Keep in mind that different styles and manufacturers fit differently, since not all breasts are the same shape or same distance apart. Also large breasts may require extra support. So, it's very important that you try on different styles of bras from different manufacturers. The larger your breasts, the more important it is that you buy quality (not cheap) bras. Wear a snug top when trying on bras, such as a sweater or t shirt, and look at your image from both the front and the side, to get the full effect.
1. You feel unsupported or in pain/discomfort.
2. Your straps keep falling down.
3. You have spillover over the top, sides, or bottom of the cups.
4. The cups of your bra are wrinkling or baggy. This means you are wearing a size too big.
5. You wear your bra on the last hook - you need a larger band size.
6. The band of the bra rides up in the back. The band should be level and paralell to the floor when you look at yourself from side view in the mirror .
7. You have indentations on your shoulders and back, from where your bra straps are digging in.
8. The underwire in your bra pokes you.
9. You have back bulge around the band. This means you are wearing a size too small.
10. Is your strapless bra falling down? You need a smaller band size.
If you're unsure, get a professional fitting. It is always a good idea to get fitted every six months, or every time you buy a new bra.
If it's super uncomfortable, you feel squished anywhere, or it's so loose you can barely feel it...best tip is if you've never either had a bra fitting or never measured yourself and tried different sizes. I measured myself and was a 40DD and then I lost 20 pounds so I had to remeasure and I'm now a 36C, so....
