6x⁴ + x³ + 3x - 2
= (6x⁴ + 3x³ - 3x²) + (-3x³ + 3x²) + x³ + 3x - 2
= 3x²(2x² + x - 1) - 2x³ + 3x² + 3x - 2
= 3x²(2x² + x - 1) - (2x³ + x² - x) + (x² - x) + 3x² + 3x - 2
= 3x²(2x² + x - 1) - x(2x² + x - 1) + (4x² + 2x - 2)
= 3x²(2x² + x - 1) - x(2x² + x - 1) + 2(2x² + x - 1)
= (3x² - x + 2)(2x² + x - 1)

Then, (6x⁴ + x³ + 3x - 2) / (2x² + x - 1)
= (3x² - x + 2)(2x² + x - 1) / (2x² + x - 1)
= 3x² - x + 2
