A. 2x3 − 11x2 − 11x + 10
B. 2x3 − x2 − 9x + 10
C. 2x3 − x2 − 11x + 10
D. 2x3 + 11x2 − 11x + 10

here are the answers. i don't understand. arent i supposed to multiply 2x + 5 and x2 − 3x + 2?

Well,

(f . g)(x) = f(x) * g(x)

= (2x+5) * (x^2 - 3x + 2)

= 2x * (x^2 - 3x + 2) + 5 * (x^2 - 3x + 2)

= 2x^3 - 6x^2 + 4x + 5x^2 - 15x + 10

= 2x^3 - 6x^2 + 5x^2 + 4x - 15x + 10

= 2x^3 - x^2 - 11x + 10
therefore

C. 2x3 − x2 − 11x + 10

= (2x + 5)(x² - 3x + 2)
= 2x(x² - 3x + 2) + 5(x² - 3x + 2)
= (2x³ - 6x² + 4x) + (5x² - 15x + 10)
= 2x³ - 6x² + 4x + 5x² - 15x + 10
= 2x³ + (-6x² + 5x²) + (4x - 15x) + 10
= 2x³ - x² - 11x + 10

The answer: C. 2x³ - x² - 11x + 10
