Evaluate the algebraic expression : 9+2(x−7)^2 when x=9?

When x = 9 :
9 + 2 (x - 7)²
= 9 + 2 (9 - 7)²
= 9 + 2 * 2²
= 9 + 2 * 4
= 9 + 8
= 17

17...assuming ^ means "to the power"(Sorry i might be wrong abt what it means since i don't use that symbol)
