What are those plugs you have to screw in called?
And is there anywhere I can buy an adapter that has the corresponding piece.

Molly screws are typically used for hanging things on the wall so you don't pull the drywall out.
I'm going with el high's guess. Put what you have in your pocket, and go to a big and good hardware store, like Ace. Mine had hundreds of threaded plugs, so get some help (ask the old guy). Hint: a sample from you beats a picture, in the store. The stuff that 'e suggests is often metric...People with knock-down furniture, baby cribs, etc. loose them 'lots. Excellent help may also include swapping in a substitute set, if an exact match isn't available.
If 'e and me have missed it...please do an Update.
Electrical? Where are you, and do you just mean twist a few degrees, or twist a few full turns?
A picture paints a thousand words.
If you have another similar plug than take it with you to Lowes to purchase another and they will help solve this .......good luck.
