All developed countries have fairly high tax rates, the US tax rate is lower than all developed countries other than Mexico and Peru.

No, because how would the country be developed without the funds to do it?

Monaco has 20% VAT on all goods and services, and taxes companies at a high rate if a certain percentage of their income is derived from outside.

Taxes pay for vital things like the infrastructure of your country. Its why you dont have to pay a toll on every road you travel.
