I'm 23 years old and I want to move to LA. Realistically, how much would I need to make a solid move?

If you just want a number, I would say $10k. But that is assuming you secure employment proving you make at least 3 times the rent first. Ah, but how much is rent? Well that is the homework you have to do by determining where in the city you want to live.

First off, if you do not have a job lined up....you ALREADY cannot afford to move here. Decent apartments START in the $1500/mo range......not nice, not safe, DECENT. So there goes $3k off the bat and you haven't even moved yet with first months rent and a small security deposit. The time to actually find a job that pays enough for you to afford this apartment will not be quick or easy.

If you have a good job lined up there, need to have $5000-8000 saved.
