Have we been in World War Three since 2001. Apparantly a senior British officer is of that opinion according to The Sun newspaper?

a world world is where many countries enter into the fray and fight each other.

Some idiots hiding in the sand, who don't represent anyone or any state, does not constitute a "World War".

A global problem perhaps, but not a "World War."
