Partner wants a motorbike?

My husband and I just bought his dream car (VW GTI). He now wants a motorbike, and it's breaking my heart. I don't want him to get one at all, I will be nervous every time he goes out. He says not to worry because he will drive smart but that doesn't mean everyone else on the road will drive smart as well. I am just so scared and nervous. Is it selfish of him to still get a motorbike?

I know LOTS of people who ride motorcycles, and most of them are better drivers than people who have never operated a bike.

Life is full of risks, but a responsible motorcycle operator isn't at super high risk of injury or accident. Relax. Your fears shouldn't stop him from enjoying owning and riding a bike.

Now is the time to make sure his health and life insurance is completely up-to-date. You might have a lawyer check out his will too.

If he gets it, buy yourself some more insurance oh him.

Everyone who buys a bike, like your husband's situation, will end up wrecking it and getting hurt. If he buys a bike, steal it, hide it and hire someone to break it apart and sell it for parts. Both of you will be better off.

I don't think it's selfish if he's a good husband.

Why would it be selfish? Could you argue that it would be selfish of you to not let him have fun because you're so scared?

every time we get on the road, whether it's a car, truck, bus, motorcycle, etc., we all take that risk and anything can happen to us. All you can do is let him know that you want him to be extremely careful.
