How to insert a memory card into a sony cybershot f828 digital camera?

I got a used Sony 7x Optical zoom f828 digital camera and the memory card it came with didn t fit so i thought i did some research and got a new one and it also was too small. the slot for the memory in the camera is thick and these cards are thin and slip right out and the "no memory card" message on the screen stays. Which one do i use? Am i doing something wrong?

AFAIK, older Sony digital cameras used Pro Duo memory sticks not memory cards. A quick search about your camera reveals it also uses CF cards. Both cards go on the same memory card well on the right hand side (grip) of the camera. There should be two slots in there, the smaller one for Pro Duo and the larger one for CF. Both types are hard to come by these days.

You can download the manual for your camera on Sony's web site in the Support section. It'll tell you exactly what type of card to use. You've obviously gotten bad information up to now.

See if the Sony website will give you some information about which is the correct SD card to use.
