How to get around the highway on Google Maps?
I don't have a license yet and ride my bicycle everywhere. Google always tells me to go on the freeway, but it's illegal and dangerous. How can I exclude the highway and go around? Is there an alternative to Google Maps for biking?

1) Go into Google Maps.
2) Click on the blue diamond in the window in the upper left corner. This is the 'directions' mode.
3) Type in your point of origin and destination on the two lines that appeared in the window..
4) Click on the bicycle icon just above where you entered your origin and destination. It will now display a route that does not use freeways. I just tested it.
I think there is a walking route option on it.
if you look closely, you will see options for the mode of transportation you want to use ; there's directions for vehicles, bus, train, and bicycle
There's an option on the top right corner with three little lines click it and click exclude highways tolls or ferries. That's what I do when I don't want to pay the toll.
You should download google map first
