What does this sentence mean?

Basically that the person who said this believes that anyone who doesn't focus on personal character as much as they do is shallow, or primarily concerned with appearances.

the person says: I have a tendency to see people as superficial, simply because those people are less introspective than me. Apparently he feels that lack of introspection is a sign of superficiality. He also thinks that he is the bar by which to measure all introspection. Kind of egotistical of that person, if you ask me. I cannot give an example because I have difficulty imagining a person actually being like that (being that self-centered and yet passing judgment on others for THEIR "superficiality").
