a)radius of cone=(diameter of cylinder)/2=2.4/2=1.2(1/3)(pi)(1.2^2)(high of cone)/(pi)(1.2^2)(4.8-high of cone)=1/6
(1/3)(high of cone)=(1/6)(4.8-high of cone)
2h=4.8-h
h=1.6
l^2=h^2+r^2
l=2
b)surface area of cylinder=(2)(pi)(1.2)(4.8-1.6)=24.13
surface area of cone=(pi)(1.2)(2)=7.54
area of base=(pi)(1.2^2)=4.52
total surface area=36.19
