I never used to brush my teeth when I was younger but I've just paid for teeth whitening from my dentist and I've started properly brushing my teeth but ever since my teeth are really sensitive to sweet stuff, is this normal? They hurt when I eat things like chocolate and sweets, why is this?

VERY Normal. This is why I never get teeth whitening done on mine. If you already have sensitive teeth this will do it. Ask your dentist, but he will probably think that eating sweets should be the last thing on your mind. Hopefully it will go away on it's own.
