At what point does the graph of 2x +3y=12 intersect the y-axis?

that is when x=0
2*(0) +3*y=12
3*y=12
y=4
The y-axis is the set of all points where x=0. In other words, it is a vertical line where every point is of the form (0,y)
If you plug in x=0, you'll find y-intercept:
2(0) + 3y = 12
3y = 12
y = 4
So the point is (0,4).
When x = 0
Hence
2(0) + 3y = 12
3y = 12
y = 4
