Days Inn in Martinsburg WV stole $45 from my bank card.?
Everytime we go out of town we book a room for the night before so we are not rushing the next day. Now this hotel was $87 for the night. Booked on Hotels.com. when I booked this hotel I didn t read the reviews because I have not had any complaints about any hotels before. I am arguing with this hotel because they took $45 from my bank account. When I discovered this Missing $45 i called and for a total of four days there was no explanation for this. I didn t stop, After a threat to call corporate they came up with the excuse of damaged towels. So I emailed corporate whom then contacted the property Manager, Who then emailed me a short message That I damaged towels, and he had told corporate, In that I asked him too ether Mail me the towels or refund the money that they stole from me. The worst part if it all is I m not even getting too see the "proof".also Did I mention the other 10 who reviewed this hotel that has had this issue as well.this Hotel was the most Filthy hotel I have stayed in, The Curtains had Ciggrette burns all over them, carpet was dirty and Gross and they had a small card talking about staying green and making your bed with the same sheets. It was downright disgusting, I However I only asked for my $45 they stole from me back, I was fine with the $87 for the room. I wouldn t usually post this kind of stuff however the way I am being treated by the Hotel management and the fact that They won t ether offer me the proof / towels or the towels themselves.

escalate your disgust and experience to the Days Inn corporate management [I think they're in Atlanta]. Corporate has a reputation for being straight shooters even if a local franchisee is not.

How much do you value your time and effort? Is all this fuss really worth less that the $45 you loss? You can continue to fight it and fight it and fight it, but all you are going to get is either $45 for your efforts, or very upset and nothing back from them.
If it was me, I would chalk it up to not fully vetting the hotel. Read the reviews left by other users. They will tell you a lot. And leave a review yourself about your experience. Don't accuse them of anything, or you could find yourself being sued for defamation. But if you only write about what happened to you, that they charged you $45 for "damaged towels" that you feel were not damaged, and they would not provide any evidence of the damage, that is a truthful statement, explains your experience, and does not accuse them of being crooks.
Make a hard copy of the other similar complaints. If you booked the room with your credit card dispute the charge and include the copy of similar complaints. If you booked with a debit card you may be out of luck. I would also make a complaint with Hotels.com
I'd complain and contact the BBB. Good luck
dispute it with your bank
I have No idea what I should do. Corporate tells me they cannot refund me my money because it's privately owned and all they do is monitor the activity and the thief of a property manager refuses me proof,or a refund.
