Can anyone help with this?
Consider the line y=8x-6
Find the equation of the line parallel and passes through (-5,5)
Find the equation of the line perpendicular and passes through (-5,5)
回答 (4)
✔ 最佳答案
parallel:
5=8(-5)+b -->b=45
y=8x+45
perpendicular:
y=(-1/8)*x+(35/8)
considering that im stupid, ur screwed! Your welcome
1.
y - 5 = 8 [ x + 5 ]
y = 8 x + 45
2.
m1 = 8
m2 = - 1/8 _____gradient of perpendicular
y - 5 = (-1/5) ( x + 5)
y = (-1/5) x + 4
y - 5 = 8(x - - 5)
y - 5 = 8x + 40
y = 8x + 45 (parallel)
y - 5 = (-1/8)(x - - 5)
y = -x/8 - 5/8 + 40/8
y = -x/8 + 35/8 (Perpendicular) .
