介系詞加名詞有形容詞的功能嗎？

介系詞加名詞有形容詞功能性
=They have no money (saved for their old age).

「介係詞＋名詞」稱為「介係詞片語」，而所謂「形容詞」是用來形容（或稱「修飾」）名詞的，所以只要是用來修飾名詞、代名詞的「介係詞片語」都有形容詞的功能，例如：

a girl in red: 「穿紅衣的」女郎。

the teacher with glasses: 「帶眼鏡的」老師。

the one on the floor: 「地上的」那一個。

介係詞片語也可以當副詞，這時它不是修飾某個名詞或代名詞，而是修飾其他詞類或句子的某部份，例如：

We met him at the bus station.
我們在巴士站遇到他。

這裡 at the bus station 是指相遇（met）的地方，所以是副詞功能。比較下一句：

The waiting-room at the bus station is crowded.
巴士站的候車室裡人擠人。

這裡 at the bus station 是指巴士站的 「候車室」，修飾名詞，所以是形容詞。
