My parents bought me a mac pro 2016 and im really thankful but i already have another laptop. Im majoring in the arts so they think i need a better laptop but im honestly fine and feel getting a new one is a waste of money. My family is middle class so we have some extra pocket money but still i feel like i could get so many more useful things for the price of that ine laptop. I dont want to hurt their feelings or make them think im not appreciative if their gift. What should i do.

Talk to them, tell them how you feel. Or you could sell your old laptop and donate the money to charity and stay with the new one. Everytime your parents buy you something that you already have, just sell the old one and donate the money. Youre parents wont get upset because you accept their gift and you also donate to the ones in need.

i wouldnt say anything, just thank them for it and sell your old one and then you can get some more money that way

Just tell the truth! Say that you're satisfied and thankful with the gift that you're having now and you think you dont have the need for the new laptop
