why do people hurt animals?

mine too. to see what people do to cats and dogs is a crime.
I know you are talking about meat animals but frankly they have a lovely life in comparison to what people do to pets. NO ONE will ever pour acid on a chicken that can be sold for meat. Or lock a cow into a crate and then dump the crate by the side of the road so it starves and dies of thirst. Or stuff a pig into a pipe and cover it with concrete.

NONE of this will happen to meat animals..they are fed, watered, sheltered, cared for, medical needs taken care of. Yes they are killed: quickly, without torture and prolonged pain.

Depends on what you mean. if you mean people who eat meat, no they are not hurting animals. If you mean people who abuse and torment them, they don't have a sense of compassion

I guess for several reasons. Most people though don't "hurt animals". Most people have little or nothing to do with animals, especially a lot of people who post on sites like this!

Really though, why do people hurt animals/people/children/anything. Who knows?

I am not much of a meat eater but being diabetic I have to eat meat to survive as I cant live just on veg and fruit but as for your question I think there is more in life to worry about that the people who kill the animals.

Because some people are worthless. They think animal cruelty is funny, since the animals sometimes are defenceless.

This is the whole reason why human beings happen to be my LEAST favourite species. God damn these stupid humans.

I don't know, but I do know that the person doing that needs to go to jail for a very, very long time.

To put it simply, they're a bit slow so they need to let out their frustration somehow or it was an accident.

They have nothing else better to do, but either way, its animal abuse and should go to jail for it!!! for the rest of their lives!!!! I would never hurt an animal, especially my amazing cat!!

As you can see from a *certain* other person who answered (who I won't name), abuse/killing of dogs/cats is wrong, but abuse/killing of pigs, chickens and cows is fine.

All animal cruelty is usually (not always) found be the result of a strong belief in speciesism.
