Will my car start on low fuel?

I have a 2015 Honda Civic. The light has been on since yesterday night and it is now morning. I was going to stop on my way to class this morning but habit took me into the wrong lane where I could not turn around and go back without being late for a test. The digital screen says I have 15 miles left... is this enough to start my car and take it less than one mile to the gas station?

I know it says 15 miles but you never know how accurate it really is.

Fuel/mileage range indicators on cars notoriously underestimate how many miles you have left before the car runs out of fuel. Manufacturers set them up that way by design knowing that owners will probably push it all the way to 0 miles occasionally and the manufacturer doesn't want you running out of fuel. Not only will the car start with 15 miles remaining indicated, you can probably drive it for longer than 15 miles before it actually runs out of fuel. I'm not telling you to push it that far, go get some gas next time you drive it because the fuel level IS low, but you've got nothing to worry about if you go get gas at the next opportunity.

amazing how no one has warned you about your fuel pump overheating and frying up. gasoline IS what cools down your fuel pump. so even if you can drive another 30 miles that IS even less than a full gallon,
if your car is rated for 35 miles a gallon and you only have an average for 15 then even if you have that full gallon, a full gallon spreaded all over the size of a fuel tank is less than 2" deep. so the fuel pump is running HOT how hot. IDK how soon will it get fried, IDK ,but I can guarantee you that it will be wayyyy sooner than later. if you make it a habit of driving like that.

techs need to eat you know! but to each its own

Unless you park on a very steep incline, you have nothing to worry about. Now, don't go looking for steep inclines.

Why are some people so overly paranoid? YES , it is enough to go 1 mile.

Yes and even after the 15 miles you may well have up to another gallon left in the tank

It's not on empty yet.

Hi so chances are all that rubbish at the bottom of the fuel tank gets sucked up into the fuel filter. and the filter is ruined and cost 1200 dollars to replace.
