Seems odd that they won't fill your RX but will fill your dogs.
BUT, it is the same drug. A lot of drugs are the same for people and animals, just different dosages.

Xanax is xanax.
4mg max per day, split into several doses.
I assume you already know your correct dose, just apply that to the dogs meds.
Though be forewarned that will run out your dogs insurance if he ever needs anything.

Your insurance wont pay your meds but will for your dogs? What insurance do you have that pays human and dogs medical bills? What insurance do you have that actually pays for the dogs stuff? Most pet insurances work on a reimbursement.

No. You cant take your dogs meds. It may not be the right dose and the ones produced for animals do not have as strict quality control as meds manufactured for humans.

no . never give anything to your dog that your vet did not give you

NO. You cannot take the pills intended for your dog. The strength and ingredients would not be suitable for human usage. Additionally, meds given to dogs would be a lot less potent and possibly damaging to the human body.

Yes, dogs and humans are mammals so there should not be any problem

Xanax is a benzodiazepine. Dog xanax is exactly the same sheet as human xanax but they usually give dogs lower doses than humans. It is safe.
