I just moved back to the US after 4 years for high school. I start in the middle of the year. I have two options for high school: A normal public school and the IA.
I d rather go to the IA because it has a better curriculum, especially for international students; it also provides 2 degrees when you graduate.
The thing is, it doesn t have a bus service and that would make it very hard for my mom to drop me off and pick me up every day because she has to work. I also might not qualify to enter because I didn t move back due to a job transfer. We moved abroad because my dad was fired from his job and we moved back because my mom told him that we [the children] deserve a good education. The IA accepts students without making them go through a lottery only if they move because of a job transfer.
Of course, I d be happy to go to the public school too. I just feel more comfortable at the IA.
I understand that my mom needs to work, but she could drop me off 1 hour early at school and go to work from there.
I ve tried to explain my feelings to my parents and I ve told them that I see things from their point of view too. But once I started to say that I understood their problems and that I d go to the other school if it made things easier for them, they got really angry and I began to feel attacked. They wouldn t let me explain and called me selfish. How do I convey my feelings?
