what would the benefit or the burden be if cuba became the 51st state or a territory of the united states of America? 11/26/2016?

Burden: An extremely poor state. Would need billions of dollars of investments to bring it up to American standards.
Benefit: A state that would be roughly the size of Ohio (population wise) and strongly Republican.

burden … $1.7trilliion.

Benefit: None.

Burden: A massive increase in welfare costs.

More tourism would help the economy, the stigma attached to Cuba wouldn't help.

Mexico would be worth more, and it would keep them from attacking us.
