Use the blue dawn original scent in some water that is lukewarm massage and lather it into the fur after wetting it thoroughly. Rinse and repeat a couple times until it's gone. If they ate some you need to take to the vet. If they have it on their face pay special attention not to get it in there eyes, mouth, nose, or ears.

Good luck and I hope your pooch comes out of the bath looking new again :)♡♡♡♡

Get a towel - a cloth one not paper towels - and remove as much as you can. Then get him in the sink with warm water and begin gently scrubbing with blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. Keep washing and rinsing until it's out, it may take quite a few washings and rinsings. Dawn is used by wildlife rehabers when birds and animals are caught in oil spills, and it's quite effective. Again, keep at it until it's gone, and then be sure to rinse with lots of clear water to get out the Dawn. Have a lot of dry towels ready so he doesn't get chilled. If you think he may have ingested the motor oil, get in touch with your vet.

Should have been constantly supervising then it couldn't have got into the oil.

Contact the vet who provided its first wellness exam and fresh fecal exam within 48 hours of getting it, for advice.

Phone calls are free in most areas.

Use some Dawn dishwashing liquid on it. Rinse well, and keep your puppy warm until s/he's dry.

This is the only time I ever endorse bathing a dog/puppy with Dawn dish detergent. This stuff straight on the oil and let it soak for a few minutes, then rinse completely, should get the oil out of a dogs fur. But using it for routine bathing is not a good idea as it is too harsh and will destroy the bacterial balance of the skin. This is different, and it IS called for here.

I'm not sure if you mean your puppy just has an oily coat, or oil was somehow spilled on him/her. If it's the latter, use a little bit of Dawn dish soap with a tub of warm water.
