Will McDonalds give me the job with a NI number being posted?

I'm 17 and never received my National Insurance number, which I didn't even think about until I recently started applying to jobs. I contacted the HM customs office and my number is being posted. McDonalds have given me an interview but have asked for an NI number, so I rang the McDonalds who said to go along to the interview and explain the situation.

My question is, will this compromise me getting the job??
and if anyone knows, how long does it take for a NI number to be posted?-not asking how long it takes when you have to apply, as I already have a number since I was born in the UK

If they want you and if there's nobody else equally good who is ready to start immediately then they'll wait. Your N.I. number confirmation letter should take no more than a few days to arrive.

They will not take you on until you prove you are legally able to work in the UK as every employer is legally obligated to and without your NI ...shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks to get it

McDonalds payroll can get your number straightaway. I did with my young staff who always lost theirs.
Take your birth certificate with you as this shows you have the right to work here.
Your number should come through in a week or so.
