Grade 11 stoichiometry help???
Acetylene gas, C2H2 burns in oxygen in a complete combustion. Calculate the mass of carbon dioxide produced if 1.55 mol of acetylene is burned with 3.05 mol of oxygen gas.
回答 (1)
2 C2H2 + 5 O2 → 4 CO2 + 2 H2O
3.05 moles of oxygen would react completely with 3.05 x (2/5) = 1.22 moles of C2H2, but there is more C2H2 present than that, so C2H2 is in excess and O2 is the limiting reactant.
Supposing complete combustion:
(3.05 mol O2) x (4 mol CO2 / 5 mol O2) x (44.00964 g CO2/mol) = 107 g CO2
