You can keep yourself busy doing short courses at college, voluntary work or get a job. If you're not receiving treatment for your depression you really need to see your GP. Your local mental health trust runs courses in community locations on dealing with issues such as low mood, anxiety, stress management etc. You can find the courses on their website and you should be able to self refer.
As you're currently 18 you may want to consider doing an access to Higher Education course at college next year. It's a one year course for adults with little or no qualifications and it's a qualification that's held in higher regard than 'A' levels or BTECs by univesities. Many people on the course struggle, or have struggled, with mental health problems so you wouldn't be alone. It's a very supportive environment to work in and you're treated as an adult like you should be.
