If it's a 2.5" laptop drive no more than 9.5mm thick.
That last requirement is the tough one. It's easy to find a 4TB laptop drive, such as the Seagate model, but most are 12mm thick -- meaning they won't physically fit inside the PS4 enclosure.

It supports hard drives that are that big, but there's no hard drive small enough physically to fit inside the PS4.
While you can get 4 TB laptop-sized hard drives, they're 15mm thick while you can only fit a 9.5mm thick drive into the console. If you use an third-party hard drive bay like the one from Nyko, then you can use it or even larger desktop hard drives.
