"巴黎以花都著稱"，是原句的中文意思。事實上巴黎並沒有 the city of flowers 的別稱。巴黎真正的別名是 the City of Light。法文 Cité Fleurie 或是 Cité Florale 都僅是位於巴黎13行政區(住宅區) 的名稱，以其社區內花木扶梳聞名。

這世上被稱為"花園城市"的都市不少，但都非專有名詞，形容的意義大於實質。早年，資訊不發達，在台灣 "巴黎有花都的美名"。原句想必也是台灣人寫的英文。我搜尋網路，Google books，archives，都沒有稱巴黎 the city of flowers。

當然，原句也是錯誤的
