Do people in the south and south west decorate their houses around christmas time?

How so? Here in Australia we can have temperatures over 100 degrees F on Christmas day, but we still decorate,eat a hot Christmas dinner & do the whole Christmas thing.We have good air conditioning to make it a peaceful & cool day.

Why? There are plenty of places that celebrate Christmas without snow. I never had a snowy christmas growing up and glad I did not.

of course, who says xmas has to cold and white? that is just your reference point. Most of the world is a lot different and they decorate as they wish.

Yes, they do. I lived in the northeast and the southeast and both decorate for Christmas. I agree that decorations look more appropriate when there is snow but I've been in Florida for Christmas and seen lights on palm trees.

As a northerner, I also think warmer climate decorating looks silly when using snow flakes or fake snow to decorate. Once I was in Florida during the Christmas season and it was hilarious to see a Santa Claus at he mall wearing shorts and a short sleeved shirt with black boots and a short beard. Too funny!! But, what else are they supposed to do? Those little kids should be able to celebrate Santa like everyone else!

christmas is still christmas, it doesn't matter where you are.

Absolutely. Many keep their stupid icicle lights hanging from their eves all year long.
