New games will come. They take 2-3 years to make a new game (more if Zelda is in the name).

It's easier for them, for the short term, to port/enhance Wii U games for the Switch so they have games out there in the first year while other new games are in the works.

If you already have a Wii U, these enhanced ports really aren't designed for you. They are designed for those who are picking up a Switch that never owned a Wii U, so for them these games are new.

Rumor is that Splatoon may be a pack-in, which I was in the minority who didn't like it, so that's one game that I will get that will probably never play, for a second time. Looking forward to the new Mario and Zelda games, though. And Pikmin :)

Probably because the two have similar hardware and os systems. Its also cheaper for nintendo to create ports then new games. A scummy way of business yes, but it does work. As for new games, don't worry, there will be some. Just give it some time.

I'm glad they're porting games, the Wii U had some amazing titles that were really fun, can't wait for SWITCH
