I need a mother figure?

I'm 29 and my mother became mentally ill when I was 10 and moved back to her home country when I was 22. I am at a point in my life where I realize how much I need a nurturing mother figure in my life. I have my dad but he is not there for me emotionally. I feel so alone and wanted to know where can I find a mother figure ? I know I'm not a kid anymore but I still want that love that parents are supposed to give you.

If you have a female family member that you respect, ask her out to lunch once in a while. You may also find comfort in seeing a psychologist. Talk with your primary medical professional about possible depression.

it's kind of impossible to find someone who would actually provide all the love, careing, emotional support, advice etc, that a mother or caring parent could.

you might find yourself seeking it out, but sadly, we don't live in a perfect world, some people have caring parents, some have one, some have none.

you might find a partner some day that is your rock, someone that is not a replacement for a mother, but will fill a void in your heart somewhat and provide some of what you seek, but it's pretty hard to find that person to be honest.

i thought i had found 'that person' when they turned around and stabbed me in the back after 8 years.

you might find something if you join a support group, online forum or something.
