As far as I know, it would be legal since I legally paid for the game through the e-shop directly. However, since it was not officially released yet, I don't know whether or not I would own it yet. As such, I don't know if I can legally get a released version. The main reason for my asking of this question is because I am sick and tired of the spoilers that I keep encountering while using YouTube. I want to play the game and experience everything firsthand as opposed to by these stupid spoiling thumbnails. I promise not to tell a soul about what I encounter. Also, I might be impatient myself, though I mainly want to avoid those ****** spoilers.

I forgot to say this, but I tried asking Pokémon officially. The first time, they simply told me that I was asking the wrong people and that Pokémon Support does not handle these types of requests. I tried to ask them instead who I should ask, though they gave me the same response. I could not find their phone number. Keep this in mind before anyone tells me to ask them directly.
