Should I inflate my tires if they are 5 years old?

My truck has tires that are around 5 years old. The sidewalls have small cracks, and since the tire is high profile, the part where the tire meets the ground sags. like alot more than other vehicles. Im worried that inflating the tire would cause the tire to pop because they are so old. I know I should replace them. Im planning to, but is inflating them a good idea in the meantime, or will it only make things worse. Tread is not worn at all.

If it is little fine cracks NOT a problem - inflate away - hell I ran some BF Goodrich tires with cracked sidewalls for years-and through many state inspections and they never failed, inflating as needed - all you are seeing is some surface checking nothing to worry about......at least I wouldn't worry and running the under inflated will surely cause them to heat and wear faster.

Driving them under-inflated is a lot worse. Put the recommended air pressure

I have some tires on the truck at our farm that are literally 30 years old. We only drive the truck on the farm and country road. We keep them full of air. No problems.

You should ALWAYS keep your tires inflated to the pressure recommended by the vehicle manufacturer.

Run 35 PSI in the tires.

To should check and adjust the tire pressures once a week.
Running under inflated tires generates a lot of heat and causes damage. This is the biggest cause if blowouts.

Don't over inflate them above the manufactures recommended maximum pressure..but keeping them firm will reduce sidewall flexing..

I wouldn't risk it. They MAY be OK but then again they may blow the moment you reach 45mph.
