Why does my budgie fly into mirrors?

His wings are clipped, but he still tries to fly into mirrors. He also chrips at them too.

Birds don't know what a mirror or window is, they see it as something they can fly through.
My budgies best friend was her buddy in the cage mirror and they would chat up a storm.

the same reason wild birds fly into structure windows. The reflection looks like whatever is reflected. For wild birds they likely see a tree or open sky. For your budgie it might look like another room to fly to or another budgie.
