I mean I live in Toronto so I'm just wondering. Are you Americans ACTUALLY going to try to move to Canada or is it just jokes?

About 5000 every week come to Canada from around the world.

About 200 per week are from the USA. Has been at this level for many years.

MANY LOOK to see if it is possible for them to move somewhere. They soon learn that there is about 1,000,000,000 around the world that want to move somewhere. It is not easy anymore to move anywhere.

If they move to Canada as U.S. citizens & work. They pay both the Canadian tax's. And U.S. income tax on the full amount they make there. So this will leave them about 1/4 of what they earn in Canada. America has some of if not the most restrictive laws in the world. To keep her citizens from fleeing. Or giving up there citizenship. To do that they need pay almost all Federal tax they would have paid the U.S.in a life time. Also never return to America. So once they look over American law. Very very few could afford to leave. They are a captive people of there Government.

Canada accepts about 10,000 people from the USA every year. That number will not change - which may come as a surprise to many Americans expecting an open welcome.

Most of it is just jokes, but there should be a small spike in immigration to Canada from the few that actually are moving.
