politics: why are people so afraid that Trump is now the US president? Isn't the congress that make all the final decisions?

There is supposed to be a balance of power between three branches.
Yes, and no. While the President cannot make policy, or laws, the system is set up with a set of checks and balances to prevent any one branch of the three from taking control. The three branches are Congress, Executive and Judicial.
No, they don't make any decision unless someone does not get 270 electoral votes. Donald Trump has already won enough states to get that number and beyond. He is not the president until January when he is sworn in.
Well Obama set a precedent of going around Congress via Executive Order. Not such a great idea anymore is it?
The Republicans can dominate the SCOTUS for decades. Clarence Thomas can retire happy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer might have to hold on to their seats until they die.
Hypothetically, the Republicans can not only get a solid SCOTUS con bloc but also pass a lot of sequester-style bad news which would not only drain the swamp but potentially wreck the country.
It doesn't take a genius to know Republican social policy is 100% backwards.
With a majority in the house, senate, the presidency and the SCOTUS Republicans struck gold.
