Molar mass of NH₃ = (14.0 + 1.0×3) g/mol = 17.0 g/mol
Molar mass of O₂ = 16×2 g/mol = 32 g/mol

4NH₃ + 5O₂ → 4NO + 6H₂O
OR: Mole ratio NH₃ : O₂ = 4 : 5

No. of moles of O₂ = (8.45 g) / (32.0 g/mol) = 0.264 mol
No. of moles of NH₃ consumed = (0.264 mol) × (4/5) = 0.211 mol
Mass of NH₃ consumed = (0.211 mol) × (17.0 g) = 3.59 g

Write a balanced equation:
4 NH3 + 5 O2 --> 4 NO + 6 H2O

8.45 g O2 / 32 g/mol X (4 mol NH3 / 5 mol O2) X 17.0 g/mol NH3 = 3.59 g NH3
