Where is my payroll number? it s not on my payslip?

I have been trying to sort this tax code issue out for a while. I called the tax office they told me my current job hasn t been confirmed even though I have been working for about 3 months. They also told me to get my payroll number and tell my manager to confirm my position.
I asked someone else and they said don t call tax office, call payroll
My payroll number is not on my payslip and I don t know what is the payroll telephone number.
I m being taxed even though I gave my P45 like 4 weeks ago and my tax code has not changed when it should ve.

For goodness sake. The people you have to contact are the people in your Company who do the the wages (payroll). You don't need its number. They should have your correct tax coding.
Have you talked to your Manager? if you only handed in your P45 a month ago then your tax should be correct in your next wages. The delay is because you waited 2 months to hand it in so were paying emergency tax.
