Is it alright to get a parakeet/budgie from PetSmart?

I don't have a local pet store, but I just wanted to know if they're abused or anything.

Sure, Petsmart gets budgies from licensed breeders. The hard part is the pet store in between adds stress and may take a while for your new budgie to destress.

They don't receive individual play time with a store worker. They are bought wholesale from a bird dealer, so age and quality aren't certain, but budgies are cheap. If you get them young and healthy, they are good pets.

I don't think they are. If they did abuse them, they would not be allowed to sell that type of pet.
