This does sound awful extreme, I can only suggest you seek some form of cognative behavioral therapy with a clinical psychologist that specializes in animal phobias.
With any desire to overcome this, it can be done but will take that effort on your part.
If you are already seeing a therapist, yes, your counselor could make a recommendation.
Any time any such fears have any impact on your daily living, you need to do something about it.
To me, it just seems sad people develop fears of natures little animals and this is just not necessary.

I am one of those that grew up playing with the bugs and spiders, a good many are some of the most loved bugs there is, It makes my day when I can find a preying mantis to play with, a dragon fly landing on a finger, even getting a bumblebee to drink honey from my hand. You deal with this fear, it could be no different for you.

I have actually seen some very pretty velvet ants, almost a shame they can have a painful sting, but then I attract wasps to eat bits of fruit from my hands. Never been stung doing that.
