Should I message this girl?

I went to a really small high school. There were 250 kids at most when I was there. Anyways I went to the same school as this girl. I knew who she was and always thought she was pretty. She was three years under me so we didn't hang out or talk at all. Flash forward 7 years. Her profile popped up on Facebook so I sent her a friend request. She goes to the same college as me which is cool, and is even more beautiful. She accepted my friend request. I want to talk to her but I don't want to look like a creep either. Should I message her and say hi? I feel like if I don't it could be a wasted opportunity. Any advice helps. Thanks guys!
