A Streetcar Named Desire Context (When it is set, what is it about)?

QUICKLY:
Blanche is the older sister to Stella who is married to Stanley.
Blanche comes to stay with them when the family home is foreclosed on and Blanche takes a leave of absence from her teaching job due to "nerves".
Blanche thinks Stanley is "common".
Stanley thinks Blanche is a snob.
Stella is caught in the middle - loving them both.
Blanche's problem is a LOT more than they think including: an affair with a student, promiscuity, alcoholism, likely bipolar disorder and previous time in a mental institution, and finally a psychotic break.
Stanley drives her over the edge where she was teetering anyway.
Stella gets knocked up and decides that maybe Stanley is not the guy for her.
Blanche gets carted off to the nuthouse.
